AN entrepreneur in his teens Chris Archer has helped local musicians secure their feet on the music industry ladder, now he’s turning his attention to the needs of business people – to give them the support they need to succeed through ShoeBox Design.

Whilst still a school boy at Appleby Grammar School, Chris, now 21 started his first business providing a mobile disco and lighting to local charities and youth groups.

After studying at the former Art College in Carlisle, he established PhasingHz  in September 2006 – providing recording studio facilities in Appleby, an on-line e-magazine for music in Cumbria and promoting acoustic music in venues across the county.

As PhasingHz expanded into web design, web hosting and graphic design Chris decided to re-brand his expanding business.

Chris said: “I came up with the name ShoeBox after talking to friends and colleagues.  The ShoeBox brand is designed to complement the new services offered by being simple, effective and much more user friendly.

“Our aim at ShoeBox Design is to bring together in one place all the services people and businesses need, from designing logos to hosting a website. We have found there is a real demand locally for innovative, user-friendly solutions.

“It's about providing a professional service with high quality products and value for money – all the things a brand should be.  We also aim to reinvest in the local community by creating up to 10 local jobs for local skilled people within the next five years.

“Though most of our customers are currently local businesses, we eventually plan to supply national then international customers.â€
